After weeks of closure and lockdown, all activities in the fashion system have started to ask themselves what future is holding for them.
The pandemic lead to a necessary reconsideration of the fashion system with the main discussion being the hectic timings of collections and the environmental impact of the industry.

Alessandro Michele has been the first one to give a palpable sign that a change is not only needed, but also in work: the creative director announced that Gucci will present two seasonless collection per year, instead of the established four. At the same time, British Fashion Council and the Council of Fashion Designers of American have joined forces to ask for a new approach, a new modus operandi that should be compatible with a post coronavirus world.
But not only: Dries Van Noten along with Tory Burch, Thom Browne and others, have requested a change in the show calendar and a slower approach to fashion, showing that the change is needed worldwide.
All parties are asking for slower collections, more focused on creativity rather than mass production.
For what may concern trade fairs, Milano Unica, Premier Vision and Pitti Uomo are confirmed, while we are still waiting to have news about Pitti Filati, the most important event in fashion connecting mills, brands and manufacturers.

At Maglificio Pini we like to be positive and ready to all changes future can bring. In the meantime, we are working on new interesting projects that will allow us to be more and more competitive not only on a creative perspective, but also on a sustainable and environmental one.
