An edition marked by a growing number of visitors, a focus on research and young people as the promise of the future.

Like every year, Pitti Filati is confirmed as the industry’s most important meeting place to discover and explore the latest in yarns and knitwear. In particular, the January 2024 edition recorded a 3% increase in attendance compared to the previous one. Scrolling through the data, we cannot but note the relevance of those regarding the attendance of buyers from all over the world, including many newcomers also interested in the universe of interior design.

Among international buyers and students: three days of meetings

As Maglificio Pini, we enthusiastically participated in all three days of the event. In particular, we were proud to observe that our stand was very well attended by both regular customers and potential newcomers, attracted certainly by the archive garments we presented, but also by our focus on the areas of research and development, production and, indeed, archive.

In addition, Friday, as per tradition, was dedicated to student visits. In line with our vocation to pass on knowledge and know-how in the knitwear sector, we were happy to meet with young people, telling them what Maglificio Pini is all about and answering numerous questions. It was stimulating to listen to dreams and projects, and to see how the new generation in the industry is already projected into the future of knitwear.

Research and remembrance: balancing past and future

Last but certainly not least, at the Research Space we presented two knit panels inspired by two wonders of nature: Salt Lake and Darvaza. Our participation in this section, which is curated by Nicola Miller and Angelo Figus, is now a regular occurrence, allowing us to confront ourselves with the most innovative trends in the industry.

A final note then on the Vintage area, which we visited with interest. However, as we admitted ourselves and not wanting to hide a healthy pride, nothing beats the beauty and richness of our archive!

The dates for the next Pitti Filati, 95th edition, are already set: 26th, 27th and 28th June 2024. See you in Florence!
