This year is drawing to a close and, as per tradition, it’s time for reflections, evaluations and resolutions for the future. For Maglificio Pini, 2021 has been full of events, initiatives and news, including new projects and achievements.

First of all, the opportunity to travel again, which faded during the toughest months of the pandemic, has allowed us to be close to our clients again, exchanging ideas and inspirations thanks to a human contact that no technology, no matter how effective, could ever replace.

Last June, for starters, we finally took part again to the Knit Club of Pitti Filati, meeting in person with friends and suppliers and selecting from Maglificio Pini’s stitches and garments archive those pieces that best represent our knitting know-how. Moreover we attended in person and online, with a virtual stand on the Pitti Connect platform. During this edition, we also debuted our first original collection, which perfectly combines comfort, fashion and punk and goth inspiration.

In addition, 2021 was the year of recognitions, with Maglificio Pini included among the 100 finalist companies of the Intesa Sanpaolo Women Value Company award, in collaboration with the Marisa Bellisario Foundation. This award involves virtuous companies in the field of female empowerment, with a careful and particularly sensitive look at the inclusion of women in the working environment. The valorization of entrepreneurial talent, equal opportunities and concrete corporate welfare policies have always been topics of interest to our Maglificio, which we are proud to honor day after day.

Last, but certainly not least, the past year has been important in keeping the spotlight on issues related to environmental sustainability, which became highly topical in Glasgow last November, during the conference of Cop26. Maglificio Pini has always asked itself this: what can be done to make fashion truly sustainable? To achieve significant improvements and implement effective strategies, we are convinced that sustainability should involve the entire supply chain. Our company carries on its commitment in various aspects, such as the use of biodegradable bags, being part of the evolved integrated zero waste supply chain of Re.Verso and a partner of Green Line, the use of recycled and sustainable yarns, the effort to implement our Corporate Social Responsibility.

This year’s results were more than positive; we confirmed the already very satisfactory results of 2020, despite the difficulties related to the pandemic. We are very happy and we are working to ensure that next year will bring us further confirmations, committing ourselves to the future. On top of that, we consolidated our expertise in the most complex processes and techniques, not only for knitting stitches, but also in garment embellishment, such as sequin applications, pattern making and customer service.

Last but certainly not least, this year we made an official video of Maglificio Pini. with the aim of communicating the passion of two generations of our company. Here it is:

Besides memories, the end of the year is also the favorable time to take a look at the future. Maglificio Pini’s projects for 2022 are many and at least a couple are already underway. For starters, next February the appointment is with the new fashion shows: the preparation of garments for the New York and Paris catwalks is already engaging the team. Furthermore, not less important, work has begun on Collection 2 of the Maglificio.
